We are happy to announce that we have established a new cooperation with a team of students and their professor at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
The team of six students, all majoring in business psychology, is currently conducting a survey study among residents of the city of Darmstadt, located in the southern Rhine-Main-Area in Germany. A main goal of the study is to learn about peoples’ willingness to use smart shower meters in their homes as a means to monitor and ultimately cut down water and energy consumption while showering. In addition, several “psychological” variables to explain individual differences in willingness to use smart shower meters will be investigated. Thereby, the study hopes to provide valuable insights into how people may be motivated to contribute to water and energy preservation and using smart meters at home, in particular. Data collection is scheduled to be completed in the autumn of 2015, and the final results of the project will be available in the spring of 2016. All participants will have the chance of winning one of ten Amphiro smart shower meters.
The student project is conducted as part of a one-year seminar on applied research and project work with a focus on environmental and sustainability issues. Academic supervisors are Dr. Anja Peters (Fraunhofer ISI) and Prof. Dr. Daniel Hanss (Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences).
We, the DAIAD Consortium, are excited about the opportunity to enrich our studies by this cooperation and this special focus. We are already curious about the results and will keep you up-to-date, of course!
